Announcing an exciting collaboration product: the Tippet-Loaded Headgate! This product is a result of RIO and Fishpond teaming up to produce an easy, one-stop option for tippet and tippet holder. Five 30-yard spools of RIO’s Powerflex tippet material (sizes 2X to 6X) are included with Fishpond’s Headgate tippet dispenser.
The updated Headgate, designed and manufactured by Fishpond, will come in RIO-inspired colors and is made from anodized aerospace aluminum with a built-in, replaceable line cutter. The secure spring opens easily to slide spools on and rubber washers hold the spools in place.
RIO’s Powerflex Tippet is made from a very strong co-polymer and coated with PTFE to help knots slide up tight. Powerflex is a light gray color for camouflage, and is the perfect material for trout fishing.
